3rd Annual Treasure Hunt
Brief Overview:
- Month long event, held annually from October 1st - 31st
- Supports local businesses in downtown Ann Arbor
- Pirate themed
- Customized treasure maps contain each participating shops
name, and a unique clue about your shop
- Participating pirates must enter your shop to find the clue’s
solution and “Capture’ it on film
- Once the pirate team has found all of the solutions to each
clue on the map, they mail in their submission for a chance
to win a Pirate’s chest filled with Lavish Pirate Loot
Last year statistics:
- Last year 23 downtown business located on Ashley, Main street,
Kerrytown, and the Liberty street area participated
- The blog received over 6000 hits
- While I wasn’t able to track how many pirates started the hunt
but didn’t complete it, or even completed The Hunt but didn’t send it in...
However
- In 2009 I received over 200 completed submissions.. which
means there were over 500 pirates out during the month of October entering Downtown Ann Arbor businesses that
participated in The Hunt
- (many of these submissions will be on display this
September and October at the Downtown Library)
There are lots of new updates and new marketing ideas for the Ann Arbor Treasure Hunt this year including a
new custom made logo and brand new look for the treasure map. There are 4
different ranks of participation this year, depending on how you would like to
be involved:
Ports-of-call ($60 + $40 donation): This is for the
shops that would like to have a clue created, and have Participating Pirates
enter your space in search of the solution. This is an opportunity to have new
patrons enter your shop maybe for the first time, or maybe they've been in
before but now they will be exploring your space in a new way. Your business
will also be listed on the blog with a hot-link taking everyone directly to
your website.
Gunner ($150) (new this year): This is a 'Direct Hit' for you and your business. The newly
designed Treasure Maps now has a space for your logos. So, in addition to being
listed on the blog with a link directly to your website, you will also have
your logo emblazoned in full color on the treasure map. So, if you would
like to support The Hunt and local businesses in Ann Arbor, but don't have a
space for Participating Pirates to venture. this is a sure victory for
you!
Quartermaster ($250) (new this
year) and the Ship Captain ($500) (new this
year) are the highest ranks in my fleet,
each ready to fight for the cause and take no prisoners.. and will receive the
same respect in return. If you are interested in supporting this fight for our
local businesses and our community, simply contact me for more details or to
schedule a time to discuss the fathoms of The Hunt.
