Think Local First is launching our new evening networking sessions at Corner Brewery in Ypsilanti this coming Thursday September 9th. We will be hosting networking events quarterly at various member businesses. Join us from 6 to 8 pm to meet other members and potential members. There will also be a tour of the brewery at 6:30 pm. If you are interested in attending, please email us at ingrid@thinklocalfirst.net with the number of people who will be going on the tour. Or just stop by to say hi anytime. Look for our group on the right side of the building when you stop in.

Hear what is happening at Think Local First every Monday on The Lucy Ann Lance Business Insider Show! We will discuss what is happening in the local movement including new members, events and other relevant items. This is an exciting opportunity for us to share with the community what we are working on and reminding folks about why our message is important to the community they live and work in. Plus we will feature a guest member each week to share what makes their business unique and different. Click on this link to hear past interviews.

regarding Think Local First. And tune in Monday through Friday at their new time from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. to hear about all things local. "The Lucy Ann Lance Show" (Saturday) and "The Lucy Ann Lance Business Insider" (weekdays) always focuses on what is happening in and around town. Monday September 6th - The Homegrown Festival will share what they have in store for us during their festival on Saturday September 11th. They will be at the Ann Arbor Farmer's Market from 6 pm to 11pm. Tune in to learn what this is all about!
Monday September 13th - Samantha Misiak, the woman behind the Ann Arbor Treasurer Hunt, will tell us about 'talk like a pirate day', activities planned at the Ann Arbor District Library as well as the month long Treasure Hunt that occurs during October. You won't want to miss how you can participate in this yearly event!
Monday September 20th - Elnian Gilbert, Marketing Director of ZingTrain will share the air to explain what they are all about. ZingTrain is part of the Zingerman's Community of Businesses and they focus on sharing their very successful methods of customer service they promote. You'll learn about the different types of classes they offer that just might be a great fit for you!
Monday September 26th - Dr. Diana Quinn of Naturopathic Women's Healthcare will stop by to explain what her practice is all about. Curious about what naturopathic means? Then you'll want to tune in to hear how she treats her patients!
Monday October 4th - Jim Kirk from University of Michigan Credit Union will tell us about what makes a credit union different. On August 28th the Wall Street Journal reported, "For Better Banking, Check Out a Credit Union" . Tune in to find out why.
Monday October 11th - Carol Kamm of Encore Online Resale will tell us all about the online resale market. If you've been thinking about trying to sell items online, you'll want to tune in to hear what sells well and what to avoid.
Monday November 8th - Avalon Housing, Inc. is going to tell us about their programs that benefit the homeless and those with lower incomes. They will also let us know when their new cookbook will be available. There will be lots to learn, so tune in!
Monday November 29th - Lynn Liston owner of Town and Country Errands will share three practical ways that will help you survive the holiday season. Tune in to learn how to make the holidays easier to
maneuver.

Coffee Hour with Think Local First!
Think Local First is inviting the community to participate at our Even Thursdays coffee hour. It is an opportunity to meet our executive director, Ingrid Ault. She will be available each Thursday that falls on an even day every month. Stop by Zingerman's Next Door from 7 am to 9 am and say hello, introduce yourself, ask questions, become a member, or share an idea. We would like to learn more about the members of Think Local First and hope this will be a casual opportunity to meet and greet existing, new and potential members and friends.
Look for Ingrid on the first floor of Zingerman's Next Door at 418 Detroit St. in Ann Arbor (near E. Kingsley St). We look forward to meeting you soon!
