The Clean Energy Coalition (CEC) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting clean energy technologies as a way to create healthier, energy independent communities. CEC implements, manages, and evaluates cost effective, market transformation projects and programs in the building and transportation sectors. As of the fall of 2009, CEC manages a variety of clean energy projects, including the Energy Outlet, Rebuild Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor Clean Cities, Ann Arbor Solar America Cities, Michigan Energy $ense, and the Biofuel Infrastructure Grant. CEC also provides commercial and residential energy auditing services. The Energy Outlet is a retail and educational space offering the latest and greatest energy and conservation products. Consumers, contractors, and business owners can access resources and products in order to decrease their energy use, improve their efficiency, and increase their use of clean energy. Call 734-483-9000 to reach the Energy Outlet directly. Rebuild Ypsilanti is part of Rebuild Michigan, a network of community partnerships - made up of local organizations and businesses - that save money by saving energy. These voluntary partnerships, working with the State of Michigan Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth's Energy Office, choose the best ways to improve the energy efficiency of commercial, government, and apartment buildings. Rebuild supports them with business and technical tools and customized assistance. Clean Cities is a U.S. Department of Energy program designed to advance the environmental, economic, and energy security of the United States by supporting local decisions to adopt practices that contribute to the reduction of petroleum consumption in the transportation sector. The Ann Arbor Solar America Cities program works to: integrate solar technologies into city energy planning, zoning and facilities; to streamline city-level regulations and practices that affect solar adoption by residents and local businesses; and to promote solar technology among residents and local businesses. Commercial audit services include Benchmarking, Building Performance Analysis for Commercial Buildings & Facilities, Building Performance and Sustainability Analysis, Renewable Energy Assessment, and Commissioning, Measurement and Verification. Residential audit services performed by CEC's professional energy auditors offer a standardized evaluation of a new or existing home's energy efficiency and resulting energy costs. Audit services help to get the most value out of the biggest single investment most homeowners are likely to make in their entire lifetime. Implemented recommendations can lead to great comfort, lower utility bills, and increased real estate value.
