Pune: thieves blow up ATM in Pimpri Chinchwad and scramble with money

Pune: In a major daring robbery incident, thieves blew up a bank’s automated teller machine (ATM) and stoned an unspecified amount of money.
The crime took place at an ATM in the Pimpri Chinchwad district of Pune in Maharashtra. The unidentified person (s) opened the functioning ATM machine by detonating it, then stole the cash. A video clip showed debris strewn around the cash machine. The metal frame of the ATM door was visible outside the kiosk. A red roofing sheet was also outside the blasted kiosk. It seemed that the disbelievers had abused the explosive material.
Police, after receiving information, arrived at the scene and the area was cordoned off. The video clip showed an official inspecting the scene with a Labrador. Meanwhile, two or three cops were standing nearby.
In another incident, three men were arrested for allegedly opening an ATM in UP’s Grand Noida near Delhi and stealing over Rs 17 lakh. Police recovered approximately Rs 2.50 lakh in cash from the trio.
According to reports, those arrested are part of a gang that stole money from an ATM of the Punjab National Bank (PNB) under the jurisdiction of the Dankaur Police Station on the night of July 13-14. . The arrested gang members have been identified as Imran, Nasir and Shahid. Two pistols made in the country and Rs 2.50 lakh of the stolen money were recovered. A two-wheeler, also stolen, was seized from the trio.
